SEE HOW WESTMINSTER ENVISIONS ITS FUTURE!

The Westminster General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) has reviewed and agreed on a Draft Proposed Land Use Plan for the community. The Plan shows how various land uses are proposed to be organized throughout the City and is a component of the Land Use Element of the General Plan. The Proposed Plan seeks to implement the Council Approved Vision Statement by accommodating future growth along corridors and in key activity centers and preserving and protecting the City’s existing residential neighborhoods, parks, schools, and other important facilities. The Draft Proposed Land Use Plan and Draft Proposed Land Use Category Definitions, along with the public input we receive, will be presented to Planning Commission and City Council for their review in fall 2015. HOW DO YOU ENVISION THE FUTURE OF WESTMINSTER?

Over the last twenty years the way people have experienced the City of Westminster has been shaped by changes in demographics, the economy, and the environment. The Westminster City Council has decided it is time to reconnect with our community and reevaluate how Westminster functions as a place to live, work, and play.

It has been nearly twenty years since the City of Westminster approved its General Plan and comprehensively evaluated the priorities that are most important to the community. Are they the same? Have they changed? Over the course of the next several years, we will want to know: what should the community look like 20 to 30 years from now? The City invites all residents, business owners, and community members to learn more about the General Plan Update process and to participate in shaping Westminster’s vision for the future. This website will serve as the City’s primary resource for updates related to the General Plan – we invite you to check back here often!
